On May 4th, 2025, OKICK BOXING STUDIO successfully hosted our very first Youth Self-Defense Workshop — and what an empowering day it was!
With 20 enthusiastic participants, the studio was filled with energy, focus, and determination. The workshop brought together three powerful martial arts disciplines — Kickboxing, Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — to offer young individuals real-life self-defense techniques in a supportive and high-energy environment.
💥 Coach Muz (Afghanistan National Champion in Kickboxing & Freestyle Wrestling) delivered practical striking and takedown drills.
🥋 Coach Peter (BJJ Purple Belt, Alliance BJJ) taught essential ground defense strategies rooted in jiu-jitsu.
From learning how to handle confrontations confidently, to exploring how strength and technique can coexist — the teens walked away with more than just new moves. They walked away with confidence, awareness, and a sense of empowerment.
💡 Why Youth Self-defense Matters
At Okick Boxing Studio, we believe that self-defense is not just about fighting — it’s about awareness, confidence, and self-respect. That’s why we’re committed to creating safe spaces where youth can explore their strength and push their limits in positive ways.
